Population

When Doctor Who screened in Honduras in the mid-1980s, the population was 4 million, and licensed TV sets numbered only 135,024 (per WRTH, 1984).

TV & system

Honduras began its television service in 1956.

It is not known on which station Doctor Who aired – possibly Compania Televisora Hondurena SA.

COMPANIA TELEVISORA HONDURENA SA (HRTG) ch 5, 9, 13 HRTG-TV ch 5 HRSU-TV ch 9 HRYA-TV ch 13 TELESISTEMA HONDURENO SA (HRNN) ch 3, 7 COMPANIA BROADCASTING CENTROAMERICANA SA ch 6 There are also cable and satellite TV stations

Language/s

The main language of Honduras is Spanish.

DOCTOR WHO IN HONDURAS

Honduras was the 61st country to screen Doctor Who; it was the fifth in Central America (see Selling Doctor Who).

BBC Records

The Eighties - The Lost Chapters records a sale of 24 stories (by 10 February 1987).

This may be an error, as only 23 Tom Baker stories were known to have aired in Central American countries. If there indeed were 24, it is not known what the other story was. (See also Guatemala and Nicaragua, which also have a sale of 24 stories recorded here).

Honduras is not named in any of the DWM story Archives.
