  • 25 October 1977: WNED screened Doctor Who, weeknights at 6.30pm in tandem with WXXI (from 1977 through until 1987). It was during screenings of the Jon Pertwee stories in 1977/78 that off-air recordings were made which were later instrumental in the reconstruction from black and white back into colour.
  • 1979: The series airs weeknights at 6.00pm.
  • 1982: Peter Davison stories commence in movie format on Saturday afternoons. Repeats of older serial continue screening weekdays.
  • 1983: The Monday to Thursday weekday slot moves to 11.00pm.
  • 1984: The Monday to Thursday weekday slot moves back to 6.00pm.
  • May 1984: The Tom Baker stories air: the run reaches Pyramids of Mars by May.
  • 1984: The 24 repackaged Jon Pertwee stories air.
  • 10 October 1986: The weekday episodic re-runs come to an end in the fall of 1986 with part six of The Invasion of Time.
  • From Saturday, 11 October 1986, only "movie" format editions screen (starting with The Ribos Operation).
  • March 1988: During the "FESTIVAL 88", on 8 March at 8.00pm and 12 March at 3.15pm, WNED aired Time and the Rani, plus an interview with Sylvester McCoy (See CLIP below).
  • Summer 1988 In the summer of 1988, the first season of Sylvester McCoy stories air.
  • 30 December 1989: The final edition of Doctor Who to screen on WNED airs - The Space Museum.

  • June 1978: WOR was selected by Time Life Television to be one of its guinea-pigs to test a new series that Time Life had on offer from the BBC... In June 1978, WOR aired an omnibus edition of The Hand of Fear...
  • 7 October 1978: At 6.30pm, Tom Baker makes his debut in New York State.
  • Stories aired in production order, so The Sontaran Experiment preceded The Ark in Space.
  • From 6 January 1979, the series shifted to the earlier time of 5.00pm, but was often pre-empted by baseball.
  • From August 1982, to October 1983, two episodes aired back to back with commercial breaks, Saturdays between 10:00am and 11:00am.
  • 5 February 1983: Revenge of the Cybermen episodes 2 and 3 aired. The Howard Da Silva prints were still being used at this point.
  • By February 1991, Doctor Who had been dropped.
