- The story may have been dubbed into Arabic.
- It was not sold anywhere in its original PAL format. The tapes had been wiped by 1973.
- For Whose Doctor Who (broadcast on 3 April 1977) a black and white clip was used from Terror of the Autons as that format was the best copy available at the time.
- The ABC Australia returned its prints to the BBC in mid-1975. The cut print of part 4 was retained by the archive, and this was later used in error as the default copy for subsequent sales to the United States, New Zealand and - ironically - also to the ABC!
- It was by using an off-air recording taken off a March 1977 broadcast in Chicago, Illinois, that enabled the BBC to restore the serial to full colour.
Reissue
- It was released again in early 1985, as part of a package of all 24 Jon Pertwee stories, and sold to the United States, but in black and white only (part 4 was the returned Australian edit). It was also sold to:
New Zealand | Aug 85 | b/w |
Canada | Mar 90 | b/w |
Ireland | Jan 00 | b/w |
- A subtitled DVD was issued in Brazil in 2016.
