  • 25 October 1977: WNED screened Doctor Who, weeknights in tandem with WXXI (from 1977 through until 1987). It was during screenings of the Jon Pertwee stories in 1977/78 that off-air recordings were made by Tom Lundie, which were later instrumental in the reconstruction from black and white back into colour.
  • 1990: In the 1990s, Doctor Who aired in omnibus movie form, Saturdays at 4.00pm. The 17 repackaged William Hartnell stories were played for the second time during this run.

  • 1978: 7 October 1978, 6.30pm, Tom Baker makes his debut in New York State. WOR-TV (aka WWOR) was one of the earliest stations in the United States to broadcast the Tom Baker stories.
  • 1979: From 6 January 1979, the series shifted to the earlier time of 5.00pm, but was often pre-empted by baseball.
  • 1982: From August 1982 to October 1983, two episodes aired back to back, Saturdays between 10.00am and 11.00am.
  • 1983: The series aired in one-hour slots, at 10.00pm on Saturdays.
