It was during screenings of the Jon Pertwee stories in 1977/78 that off-air recordings were made by Tom Lundie, which were later instrumental in the reconstruction from black and white back into colour.
  • 1979: The series aired weeknights at 6.00pm.
  • 1990: In the 1990s, Doctor Who aired in omnibus movie form, Saturdays at 4.00pm. The 17 repackaged William Hartnell stories were played for the second time during this run.

Included in its regular schedules is Doctor Who: screening from 12.00 to 1.00pm weekdays, the hour-long timeslot allows for the episodes to screen uncut, but with ads and short programming filling the rest of the hour. That episode was then repeated at 1.00am.
  • To give one example of the extreme scheduling of Doctor Who on the Sci-Fi Channel, The Ambassadors of Death was purchased for ten screenings!
