  • 11 September 1978: The Tom Baker stories begin, Monday-Friday at 4:30pm. The series was regularly preempted for ABC Afterschool Specials and playoff baseball.
  • 28 December 1978: The series takes a break.
  • 11 February 1979: A day after the station goes 24 hours, the series returns at 4:30am. Episodes were often aired out of order. After several complaints about this appeared in local newspapers, the series was dropped.
  • Spring 1983: After a four year gap, the series returned, two episodes edited together, weeknights at 7.00 to 8.00pm. The first story to air was The Invasion of Time, followed by Robot, and the stories cycled in sequence through to The Invasion of Time again.
  • The first 23 Tom Baker stories were in re-runs until at least late summer 1983, when it was dropped again (thus WVEC missed out in joining the nationwide screening of The Five Doctors in November 1983). The series never returned to WVEC.
