  • 6 October 1980: Tom Baker premieres, weekdays at 7pm.
  • 24 March 1981: The run of seasons 12-15 concludes.
  • 5 October 1981: Another run of Tom Baker stories ending 23 March 1982. The series now airs at 6pm.
  • 2 July 1984: The series returns - starting again with Tom Baker in Robot, and running through all his stories up to Logopolis. Episodes are shown at 11:30 and midnight.
  • 6 September 1984: The run ends.
  • 1 December 1984: The series returns with Doctor Who in America followed by seven Saturdays of complete stories with episode breaks.
  • 27 April 1985: The Peter Davison stories premiere.
