It was during screenings of the Jon Pertwee stories in 1977/78 that off-air recordings were made which were later instrumental in the reconstruction from black and white back into colour.
  • 1979: The series airs weeknights at 6.00pm.
  • 1982: Peter Davison stories commence in movie format on Saturday afternoons. Repeats of older serial continue screening weekdays.
  • 1983: The Monday to Thursday weekday slot moves to 11.00pm.
  • 1984: The Monday to Thursday weekday slot moves back to 6.00pm.
  • May 1984: The Tom Baker stories air: the run reaches Pyramids of Mars by May.
  • 1984: The 24 repackaged Jon Pertwee stories air.
  • 10 October 1986: The weekday episodic re-runs come to an end in the fall of 1986 with part six of The Invasion of Time.
