Although the series was not shown on any local terrestrial TV channels in AUSTRIA, viewers could watch Doctor Who by tuning into transmissions from neighbouring countries such as Italy and Germany.

From late January 1987 the UK satellite station Super Channel was available - Doctor Who commenced on 24 March 1987.
