Population
When Doctor Who screened in Abu Dhabi in the 1970s, the population was 200,000, and licensed TV sets numbered only 16,000 (per WRTH, 1974).

Abu Dhabi began its television service in 1969.
Colour transmissions began in 1974 using the PAL colour broadcast system.
There is just one television station: United Arab Emirates Abu Dhabi Television Service, a government-owned commercial broadcaster. Doctor Who screened on its channel 5.

There is no record that Abu Dhabi screened Doctor Who again; however given that the countries of the Persian Gulf could receive tramsissions from each other's broadcasts, it is certain that viewers in Abu Dhabi viewed screenings of Doctor Who from Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
