Countries in Australasia and Asia were some of the first to screen Doctor Who: New Zealand, Australia and Singapore all began screening the series within a few months of each other from 1964.
Hartnell only screened in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand, while Troughton was only seen in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
The others countries in the list below mostly saw only Pertwee and/or Tom Baker.
Asia in Doctor Who
Generic references to Asia have featured in the following stories:
- Asia was wiped out by the Daleks (The Dalek Invasion of Earth)
- Polly sees what appears to be Malaysia on an image of Mondas (The Tenth Planet).
- The glaciers in Australasia were 'held' by the Ioniser bases there, while 'improvement' was claimed by those in Asia (The Ice Warriors)
