The Middle East is a region that covers the north of Africa to Arabia and Persia. Arabic is the principal language spoken in Middle Eastern countries.
The BBC sold Doctor Who to several Middle Eastern countries from 1967 to 1969 (William Hartnell stories), and again from 1977 (Jon Pertwee stories).
- Refer to the chapter on Arabic for more details about sales of Doctor Who (الدكتور هو) to Middle Eastern countries.
