• New Zealand sent its film prints of this serial to Singapore on 10 January 1972.

• Singapore then sent the prints to Nigeria.

• Both New Zealand and Nigeria made edits to the prints. The films were recovered from Nigeria in 1984.

• The newly-recovered serial was quickly made available to the United States by September 1985 as a NTSC conversion. (Apparently the regeneration sequence from Hartnell to Troughton was grafed onto the end of part four.)

• Canada screened the serial in the 1990s. Sweden also later aired the serial in the early 2000s.

• For the DVD release, the films were restored by combining elements from the New Zealand / Singapore / Nigeria prints with a print and censor clippings recovered from Australia.
