- 1976: The only known surviving colour copy of The Ambassadors of Death was recorded off WTTW 2-3 February and was used by the Restoration Team to colourise the story for a VHS release.
- 1977: The only known surviving colour copy of Terror of the Autons was recorded off WTTW 7-10 March and was used by the Restoration Team to colourise the story for a VHS release.
- 1981: WTTW began airing homemade compilations with The Sun Makers on 4 January
- 1983: The US premiere of The Five Doctors was on WTTW 23 November, two days before it aired in the UK. Chicago had not yet seen season 20 before the airing.
- 1986: WTTW removed the scene of Shockeye eating a rat from its broadcasts of The Two Doctors.
- 1987: The 22 November airing of Horror of Fang Rock was interrupted by a video pirate dressed as Max Headroom.
- WTTW never showed Battlefield.
