Although the series was not shown on any local terrestrial TV channels in AUSTRIA, viewers could watch Doctor Who by tuning into transmissions from neighbouring countries such as Italy and Germany.
From late January 1987 the UK satellite station Super Channel was available - Doctor Who commenced on 24 March 1987. BBC Prime was also available in the mid-1990s.
According to the IMDB, the TV Movie was screened in Austria on Sunday, 24 June 2001, but we have not been able to confirm this.

German translations of the Target novelisations of Planet of the Daleks and The Dalek Invasion of Earth were published by Schneider-Buch / Franz Schneider Verlag GmbH & Co in 1980 and 1981; these were also published in "Wien" (Vienna).
