This is what happens when the Full Text published by Doctor Who Archive is entered into this MediaWiki.
As one can see, it's a scrambled mess due to the lack of the brackets, placement lines and other layout templates required to drive the MediaWiki encoding.
Even the text surrounded by the <!- -> comments, which should normally be rendered invisible, is displayed.
If you use the 'search' function for, say, "Hong Kong 2013" the page will display in the return. If the text was on the site in July it would have displayed during any search conducted at that time. No such text was found, because it was never there.
It was claimed that the code was 'hidden' so it could be revealed quickly in the event of an announcement. But more than just removing a few codes would be required to display anything coherent. So much for a "quick" reveal.
